Discipling is an Every Day Act

You then,my child,be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. (2 Timothy 2:1-7) So I just finished editing and am now in the final production phases of the the third Kid's Devotion video our church makes, and I came to a conclusion watching my wife, kids and I in the video clips: discipling is an every day affair. Michaelene and I take our kids to the church every day (we're having to do their school from home since the schools are closed due to COVID-19), and so they come alongside us every single day as we do the work of the ministry. We include them in our tasks, but it's not just here at the church the kids need to be discipled: it's every day in every way! They need to witness US being that godly example, and working out our salvation in every part of what we do. So how does this apply to you, whether you're a parent, single, or an influence in other ways? Simply put: you're a Bible people are reading every single day. Everyone watches us, whether or not we want them to, whether or not we ask them to, and so we have a sacred duty to let people see the sacred relationship of Christ in us as we do every day things. We are discipling people, drawing them closer or pushing them further away from Jesus every day by how we depend on Him, talk, act, post on social media, or whatever else we may do. So take the scripture Paul writes to heart: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:16-17)
