We are all preparing to get our youngest son, Sebastian, ready for Kindergarten. He attended pre-school for two years, and now he is off to the next part of his education. He has been excited to got to his brothers' school for at least a year. "Am I in kindergarten today?" "I wanna go to my brothers' school." An extremely generous friend from church gave Sebastian a dinosaur-themed backpack and lunchbox yesterday, and he was ready to go to school (we still have about 2 weeks before it starts). We will soon go school shopping to get clothes and supplies.
Right now, I am really excited for my son. I love to see his smile, and hear his silly jokes. I know that he will learn so much while at school, just as he has his whole 5 years. He has lots of friends, but his best friends are his older brothers. He sometimes wants to be one of the big boys, and sometimes he still wants to stay with mommy or daddy. During our recent vacation, Sebastian stepped out by doing things he had not before-swimming by himself and going on roller coasters. His next big feat will be going to elementary school.
Here is a verse I want my children to focus on this school year.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 (English Standard Version)
