Misdirection and Redirection

I think most people in the world today know something is wrong with it. We like to blame all sorts of things: blame the law, blame the lawlessness, blame this or that political party, blame the king/president/governor, blame the cop, blame the crook, blame the culture, blame the counterculture, blame the liberal blame the conservative; I could keep going, but I don't have enough hours in the day to keep listing the blames we pour out. You may notice all of our blames, however, are based on some sort of divide, whether social, ethnic, economic, political, gender, age group, or whatever else we can think of (and if you didn't notice, I pointed it out to you, so you're welcome). To be honest, many of us arrogantly (And yes, I mean what I say) think we know exactly what the problem is, and will tell everyone we know, on social media, in conversation, and otherwise, and try to diminish and discredit those who disagree! This, loved ones, is all a great misdirection.

We have an enemy who seeks to kill, steal and destroy. He knows his path is death, and seeks to take all of God's creation down with him. He keeps us misdirected by keeping us divided. What is the solution? How do we stand against the father of lies? We unify on the Word of God. We redirect our attention on God and what pleases Him. If we love God, we can't libel or slander someone made in His image (James 3 has much to say on this). If we love one another, we will correct each other in accordance with the word of God, so that we all may attain the Reward of Christ's presence eternally. The world will rile us up against one another. God's word unifies His people. This world was once good, and we all see that it is not as it should be. Some day, Christ will return and make all right again, but until that day, we need to fix our eyes on Him, walking by faith and not by sight. Redirect all of our attention from the enemy's lies, and deny yourself, pick up your cross daily, and follow Jesus. 1 John 5:6-21 This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death.

We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
