Psalm 121- For Those Who Need Comfort Today

Michaelene Doyle

121

A Song of Ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.

From where does my help come?

2 My help comes from the LORD,

who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot be moved;

he who keeps you will not slumber.

4 Behold, he who keeps Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD is your keeper;

the LORD is your shade on your right hand.

6 The sun shall not strike you by day,

nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all evil;

he will keep your life.

8 The LORD will keep

your going out and your coming in

from this time forth and forevermore.

I don't have much to say today. I have decided to take the day off from the office so I could spend time at home with my family. We had a memorial service for my father last week out-of- state, and today some of our friends are burying their son. I know others who are suffering from sickness, broken relationships, and exhaustion. I find comfort in Psalm 121. We used to sing a worship song based on this Psalm, and it gets stuck in my head sometimes. "My help comes from the LORD." When I believe those words, I know that I am not alone and that I am not forgotten. When you believe, I hope you find your hope in God and find rest in His promises for you.
