The Reason

One of my favorite marquis signs at Christmas is "Wise Men Still Seek Him." This is a timeless reminder that, as the world changes, and so too do the Holiday Meanings, Jesus is the same yesterday as he is today as he will be tomorrow. The Message of the Gospel has not changed, God's word has not changed, and if one is wise, they will run to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Jesus is the embodiment of every promise given to Abraham and his descendants. While it's easy to get caught up in the presents, lights, family functions, and favorite Christmas films, if we seek Him as the wise-men sought the star, we will get caught up in Jesus even more. Jesus is the answer to life's question of "why," the embodiment of God's love for us, and the promises of God fulfilled. So whether you have snow on Christmas, or not, whether you get what was on your list or not, or whether Christmas is joyous or not, fix your eyes on the Jesus. Seek Him out with all you are, and find your peace, hope and joy this Christmas. Jesus is the Reason, not just for the season, but for everything. What is stopping you from seeking Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength? What's stopping you from surrendering completely, and thus finding TRUE freedom? If Jesus is your reason, you already have everything you need!

Colossians 1:

15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

21And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creationg under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.
