What's Your Dream?

Welcome to Hollywood. What's your dream ?

Everybody comes here. This is Hollywood, the land of dreams.

Some dreams come true, some don't. But keep on dreamin'.

This is Hollywood. Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin'.

-Quote of Man walking across the street at the very end of the movie “Pretty Woman” (1991)

Has anyone ever asked you what you wanted out of life? Have you heard motivational speakers say things like “You’ve gotta believe (in yourself). If you can dream it, you can do it.” I used to think I knew what I wanted out of life. That was when I was 16 years old. Now, what I have is exactly what I want NOW. Some of it fits my dreams from when I was a know-it-all adolescent, but most of my current lifestyle is nothing I had ever dreamed of. It is far better!

As a teenager and young adult, I was highly influenced by the standards of the world. I still get that way sometimes, but I now know so much more what I DO NOT want. I have learned to become content wherever I am. I have a Savior that loves me. I have a Heavenly Father that knows all of my thoughts, and dreams, and has His own plans for me. His plans for my life are far better than my own. When I trust in Him, and not my own understanding and selfish desires, I truly get the best out of life. If this life on earth is good, imagine what life eternal with God will be like!

This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.

Jeremiah 29:10-14 (English Standard Version)
