My third son, Tobias, just turned 6 yesterday, and, since he has not helped write one of these devotions before, I decided to let him help. I asked him what it means to be a followr of Jesus, and His first response was: "Do what God Says." This means we're to "love one another," to help people who don't know Him, and to help people who can't help themselves. Kids can follow Jesus by reading the Bible, and get baptized (and get your own Bible) So you can be good like Jesus. He also said "Mommies and Daddies could help their kids follow Jesus by getting baptized, reading the Bible more, and caring about them, loving them, and teaching them how to be good followers of Jesus. As of this writing, Toby has decided to follow Jesus with his whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. He's decided to put on Christ in baptism, and this is something he says Jesus wants everyone to do. How have you brought up your kids, neighbors, friends, coworkers, and everyone else you meet? We can teach those who are young (and young in the faith), but we can learn a lot from them as well

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
