Loving One Another is NOT a Suggestion

Can I admit to you that I am angry at people who call themselves Christians, and yet use their tongues, by which they praise and honor God, to put someone else down and demonize them? Our enemies are not flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:10-20), so why do we make an enemy of someone we should call brother? Why do we demonize and divide? Why do we forget Ephesians 4:29. James 3, Matthew 5-7, and so many other Scriptures? I think it's because we allow external issues to rule the body of Christ instead of letting Jesus be the head. They will know we are His by how we love one another, not by how we vote, not by how we grandstand on facebook or other social media platforms, but by the sacrificial love by which Jesus died for us displayed to others. Drop the act. You either believe Christ and His word, or you're self-seeking; let's not call ourselves by His name, and behave in an opposite way. Jesus said "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35). This isn't a suggestion. It's not something we can ignore, if we love Jesus, it's a command we MUST obey. The Church is strongest as it is unified. We then must intentionally seek unity. We must intentionally seek the power of God together. When the Lord takes a heart that is broken, and people who naturally are inclined to hate, and transforms them in to an unstoppable force of love, that is the true miracle! So let us then walk as miracles, loving one another as Christ loved us, giving our lives for His sake. John 13: English Standard Version: 31When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. 33Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
