For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.-Romans 8:18-25 Beloved Believer, where does your hope lie? I see so many people placing their happiness, their joy (their 401k), and every other thing behind human means and ways of understanding. Our time in this world is short. Whether we have 5 days or 105 years or more, we're but a breath, a vapor. Why, then, do we put our hope and trust in people and things that are just as short-lived as we are? as the song says "My hope is built on nothing less,
than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus' name."
There is no hope apart from Christ Jesus. There is no security or assurance apart from that which comes from Him alone. He is the Way, the Truth, the Life and no one comes to the Father but through Him. No one receives the Holy Spirit but by Him, He is the one who died, and rose again, who now sits at the Right Hand of the Father in Glory. My hope, beloved believer does not lie in anything this world can produce. There is nothing this world can give that satisfies. My hope and foundation is in Christ alone, and I pray He is yours as well.
